Powerscourt Distillery is set to celebrate St Brigid’s Day on 4 February with an immersive event at the distillery. The day will feature cultural activities, including poetry readings, wellness sessions, and insights from business and community leaders.
Attendees will be treated to craft and food demonstrations, tastings, enlightening talks, and hands-on masterclasses and workshops. Guests will also dip into the Irish language during the ‘Cupla Focal agus Fercullen’ session, craft St. Brigid’s crosses, and witness weaving demonstrations. Additionally, a series of tastings featuring Fercullen whiskey, mead, wine, beer and whiskey masterclasses will take place.
Additionally, Powerscourt Distillery and The K Club have collaborated for an exclusive dinner on 2 February. The event will be held at The K Club’s Barton Restaurant, hosting 70 people, to mark 1500 years since the saint’s passing.
The evening includes a dedicated Fercullen cocktail, a three-course feast inspired by St. Brigid, and wine pairings introduced by The K Club’s sommelier. Powerscourt’s Santina Kennedy will explore the connection with St. Brigid’s legacy, and John Cashman will talk about Irish mythology and whiskey during the Fercullen whiskey tasting.
The cost is €105 pp, with an option for an overnight stay at €200 pp, including breakfast and the St. Brigid’s dinner.
Santina Kennedy, advocacy, food and beverage expert, The Powerscourt Distillery, said: “St Brigid’s Day is a celebration deeply rooted in our heritage. We’re bringing that essence into the experience with a menu that pays homage to the saint’s connection with dairying, brewing, and bountiful hospitality. Expect a day where tradition meets taste, and every flavour tells a story.
“We’ve woven together an event that’s not just about enjoyment, but also enlightenment – reflecting the legacy of St Brigid, who was renowned for her hospitality and generosity. It’s a day to savour the good things in life and ignite the passion within us all.”
