Nightline, Ireland’s largest independent logistic and delivery service, has announced plans for a €3m expansion investment that will result in 150 new jobs and premium services for its customers and clients. The company plans to cater for same day, evening and weekend deliveries, as well as to open three new depots in Dublin, Tyrone and Waterford.

The new roles will include delivery driver posts and support staff, and will be spread across Ireland so as to deliver a boost to the national and local economies. In its announcement, the company credited its expansion on the ongoing growth of e-commerce, along with the recent launch of the Eircode system.

Nightline CEO John Tuohy said that after 25 years in business, Nightline still prides itself on consistent growth. “With the heavy demand for online shopping we are seeing a strong and steady need for improved parcel and delivery service.

“As we near a quarter of a century in business we continue to enjoy consistent and sustained growth at Nightline,” Tuohy said. “With the heavy demand for online shopping we are seeing a strong and steady need for parcel and delivery services, and this expansion is in line with the desire to continually give our customer base a first-class service.

“The implementation of Eircodes has also greatly improved our business’ efficiency.” he added, “and has allowed us to enhance our customer delivery experience. We are proud to bring exciting innovation to Irish consumers and are committed to making deliveries even more efficient.
