Nightclubs seek Sequential Closing from Sale of Alcohol Bill
The INIA has stated that Sequential Closing must form part of late-night licensing going forward and it proposes a three-tier closing system for the Nightclub Permit which will be introduced in the forthcoming Sale of Alcohol Bill, it has stated.

“To achieve this successfully, as we had in Dublin in 2008, there must be a meaningful time differential of two hours between late bars and nightclubs,” pointed out the INIA, “The Nightclub Permit will be applied for annually to the District Court and hours of trading should be standard across seven nights of the week with opening times of 10pm, a minimum licensed capacity of 400, a defined level of Door Supervisors per attendees (one to 100) and a defined level of CCTV per capacity (one to 30)”.
