Cookies & Cream, one of Kit Kat's new varietiesIconic Kit Kat to relaunch with new products

One of Nestle Ireland’s most enduring brands Kit Kat is thesubject of a new series of initiatives this year, the latest  being Kit Kat Snap & Share. Available for stocking from mid-August, the 170g sharing block (RRP €3.63) will come in two flavour variants: Milk Chocolate and Cookies & Cream.

The new products are expected to generate incremental sales by tapping in to the age-old consumer trend of sharing confectionary. The bars are specifically designed with this “snap and share” in mind. The launch will be supported by a media campaign encompassing TV advertising and bespoke outdoor advertising.

 

Hands in the air with Maxol

Over several stages from Friday to Sunday at Deer Farm, Mitchelstown, music fans enjoyed performances from a wide variety of Irish and international acts including Kodaline, Basement Jaxx, The Dandy Warhols, Ash and many more.

Maxol’s next stop on its summer-long festival sponsorship road trip is Belsonic, which takes place later this month in Belfast.

Irish chicken producer manor farm is one of 100 local producers set to tease visitors’ taste buds at this year’s Taste of Cavan even, which takes place August 7th and 8th in Cavan town. Manor Farm nutritionist Caroline Cummins will give a live cookery demo alongside butchery specialist Shay O’Connor demonstrating how to prepare simple, tasty and nutritious chicken dishes. Admission to Taste of Cavan is €5, under 12s go free.

Manor Farm is the biggest employer in the food sector in Cavan and celebrates its 240th anniversary this year.

 

Irish Café Quality Food & Drink Awards 2015

The finalists for the inaugural Irish Café Quality Food & Drink Awards have been announced, and the finalists will be invited to a ceremony at the Oak Room at Dublin’s Mansion House on 16th September.

The Irish Café Quality Food & Drink Awards were established to recognise the increasing demand for quality own-label and branded ranges at affordable prices in the retail and catering channels of the Irish café industry; categories include awards for national and regional café chains, independent café of the year and contract catering café of the year.

 

Oakland Intl confirmed as Finalist in Global Freight Awards 2015

Ireland and UK supply chain specialists Oakland International have been confirmed as finalist in the Innovation Award category of the upcoming Global Freight Awards. The prestigious event, set to take place in London’s Grosvenor House Hotel in November, celebrates the industry’s best talent and business performers and is a major event in the freight industry’s calendar. Oakland supplies major UK and Irish retail, wholesale, discount and convenience markets from depots all over both countries.

 

Fáilte Ireland and Bord Iascaigh Mara launch new Wild Atlantic Way initiative

Bord Iascaigh Mara (BIM) – also known as the Seafood Development Agency – in conjunction with Fáilte Ireland has launched ‘Taste the Atlantic: A Seafood Journey’, a dedicated seafood trail location along the Wild Atlantic Way.

The trail will initially focus on the ‘Bay’ region of the Wild Atlantic Way, stretching from Erris, Co. Mayo to Connemara and Galway Bay, and aims to give visitors and appreciation of the quality of Irish seafood from the region. To learn more visit wildatlanticway.com and bim.ie.
