Just Eat PLC, the global network connecting users with local takeaway restaurants, has today reported yet another period of excellent growth. Connecting its users to 59,000 restaurants, Just Eat reports revenue up by £54% to £107.8m, and orders up by 52% to 41.9m in the six months up to 30th June 2015.

The site’s user base has also surged in the past year, with active users up 59% to 11m. As of 30th June 2014, Just Eat had 6.9m active users.

Just Eat’s growth is reflective of the general surge in popularity of mobile apps and the continued popularity in social media; the company’s latest figures show that mobile devices account for 60% of total orders; in the same period last year, mobile orders accounted for just over 50% of orders.

“I am particularly pleased to see the results of our mobile strategy, which has already created a much-improved experience for our app and mobile users,” said David Buttress, CEO of Just Eat, adding that the company has recently added Mexico, Australia and New Zealand to its operation.

Management at Just Eat expect revenue for 2015 to total around £230m. “We intend to invest an additional £8m in marketing to our core markets,” said Buttress, “and an additional £5m in our Latin American teams.”

Now, who’s hungry?
