Grocery Management Awards 2017: the time is now!
It's that time of year again, when the great and the good of Ireland's grocery retail industry gather for the annual ShelfLife Grocery Management Awards.

The 2017 ShelfLife Grocery Management Awards 2017 take place next Wednesday, 17 May in Dublin’s Royal Marine Hotel, and this year’s event promises to be the best and biggest ever. The awards are organised and promoted annually by ShelfLife magazine to recognise and reward individual management excellence in Ireland’s grocery retail sector.
The applications and judging process has been ongoing for several months, and ShelfLife publisher John McDonald says the competition is stronger than it has been in a long time.
“Having met so many quality managers over the past two months I am reassured that our supermarket and convenience store sector is in safe hands,” McDonald says. “Visits to stores represented by these exceptional department and store managers have reinforced this view.
“Ours is a standards-led industry, and the GMA finalists have clearly demonstrated that they are the finest managers in Ireland. I am very much looking forward to having all of these retail stalwarts together at the Royal Marine Hotel next Wednesday, for the announcement of the winners.”
The 2017 GMAs platinum sponsor is Bank of Ireland, whose head of retail convenience Owen Clifford offered his congratulations to all; the nominees and their teams. “Bank of Ireland is delighted to be main sponsor of the ShelfLife Grocery Management Awards,” Clifford said, “and we look forward to meeting everyone there on the 17th.”
MC on the night will be comedian Steve Cummins, while a host of entertainment and surprises are planned.
