The jet-setting Guinness fans amongst you will no doubt be pleased to hear Diageo and The Loop have partnered up launch the world’s first Guinness Export House at Terminal 2, Dublin Airport.

The state-of-the-art concept is the first of its kind for the Guinness brand and aims to deliver a new innovative retail solution to the travel retail sector. Custom-designed from conception to completion by Diageo and The Loop, the brands say it will offer “the globally mobile consumer a unique opportunity to experience the world of Guinness Export House”.

The new development, which represents a substantial investment by Diageo, invites consumers to immerse themselves in the Guinness culture and partake in a unique in-store tasting experience. In the expert hands of a Guinness beer specialist, the tasting experience offers consumers a unique opportunity to sample the craft, quality and distinctiveness of specialty beers.

The Loop at Dublin Airport and Guinness are two brands synonymous with the city of Dublin. Many of the 27.9 million passengers who annually travel through Dublin Airport have enjoyed visiting the home of Guinness and this partnership aims to transport elements of the St. James’s Gate experience to Dublin Airport, which is Ireland’s global gateway.

The launch marks another global travel retail exclusive for DAA’s retail business ARI, which runs The Loop. ARI has also said there is potential for a future rollout of the concept across its growing global retail portfolio, which spans nine countries.

Airport shopping experience services

To make the airport shopping experience as seamless as possible, The Loop offers its free Click and Collect  and Shop and Collect services.

Shop and Collect also allows customers to purchase items at Dublin Airport with the added benefit of storing these purchases on site until the customer returns to Ireland. A text is also sent to each passenger using this service to remind them to pick up their goods when they arrive back to Dublin Airport.

The Loop’s Click and Collect service allows you to browse and purchase up to 12 hours in advance of your flight via www.theloop.ie. Your purchases can then be picked up on departure or when you arrive back to the airport.
