Tipperary Pure Irish Water, produced and distributed by C&C Group plc, has been announced as the Official Water Sponsor of the Football Association of Ireland (FAI).

Sourced in Clonmel, Tipperary Pure Irish Water will refresh and hydrate all of Ireland’s international teams, from the Under-15 Boy’s and Girl’s sides, up to the Senior Men’s and Women’s International Teams, as both sides aim to qualify for their respective upcoming European Championships in 2021 and 2022. The three-year sponsorship agreement also includes the FAI’s Grassroots and Football For All inclusion initiatives, which will engage with communities all over the country.

Ahead of the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures against Bulgaria and Finland, Men’s Senior Republic of Ireland manager, Stephen Kenny, was joined by Sarah Leahy, Tipperary Water brand manager, to launch the new deal.

Commenting on today’s announcement, Mark Russell FAI commercial and marketing director said: “We are delighted to join forces with Tipperary Water, an iconic Irish water brand. Our senior men’s and women’s and underage international teams, and all the FAI grassroots initiatives will benefit from this partnership in the coming years. It’s a relationship we are thrilled to form with such a respected Irish company.”

“Everyone in the team at Tipperary Water is delighted that we’ve been selected as the Official Water Sponsor of the FAI,” added Keith O’Haire, head of non-alcoholic beverages for C&C Group plc.

“Our national teams have provided the nation with countless moments of sporting excitement, over many decades, and our fans are famous, the world over for their pride, passion and exemplary sporting behaviour,” O’Hare said. “We see this partnership as an exciting opportunity to engage with our customers, to drive community spirit and to educate players and fans, from grassroots to international level, about the benefits of proper hydration and about the environmental benefits of choosing our new 100% recyclable, 88% plant-based and eco-friendly, carton.

“We aim to bring this sponsorship to life through engaging activations and education for fans and players, as we leverage our common core values of passion, teamwork and excellence through our #strongertogether ambition,” O’Hare added. “As part of our sponsorship we intend to organise events and competitions to engage with young players at club level around the country. The FAI will also give us a larger platform to educate children of the support available to them through our charity partner, the ISPCC. This is an exciting time for Irish football and for Tipperary Water to partner with the FAI. We wish Stephen, Vera and all the players every success in their respective upcoming qualifying campaigns.”
