Eurospar retailer Paul Murphy, from Tubbercurry, will bring his Operation Transformation journey to a conclusion this week when the class of 2019 graduates from the immensely popular RTE One television show.

Throughout his adventure, Paul received tremendous support locally from the loyal customers of Eurospar Tubbercurry, as well as the wider community in Sligo town. The supermarket is a family-run business, and has been serving the local community since 1978. It became a Eurospar in 2005 and employs 30 people locally.

That support was apparent when Paul and the other Operation Transformation Team Leaders were joined by more than 5,000 supporters for the Operation Transformation 5k road run in Dublin’s Phoenix Park. Along with family members and friends, Team Eurospar was out in force to support Paul on the day including fellow retailers and BWG management.

Paul posted an impressive 32 minutes and 15 seconds for his run.

Commenting on Paul Murphy’s achievement in the show, Malachy Hanberry, managing director of Eurospar said, everyone at the supermarket is very proud of Paul and what he has achieved with his appearance on this show. “Paul’s commitment, perseverance and success are an inspiration to all of us,” Hanberry said.
