2014 has proved to be Desperados’ biggest and most innovative year to date. Leading the charge as Ireland’s authority on all things party, Desperados has had a very successful year to date, launching ‘RAID’ an interactive, online game for Irish party people, the Desperados 50cl can, the Desperados House Party Pack and its latest offering, Desperados ‘Verde’.

With 25% of its yearly volume being sold in the eight week lead up to Christmas, this festive season sees Ireland’s favourite tequila flavoured beer sitting in a great place as the most premium brand in the market, commanding the highest euro per litre and a staggering growth of 59% versus last year.

With can sales accounting for a staggering 70% of off-trade lager sales (Source: Nielsen November YTD), this presented a huge opportunity for the introduction of the Desperados 50cl can to broaden the footprint of the brand in the off-trade.  The launch coincided with the summer months and festival season and was perfectly timed to recruit 18-24 year old shoppers to choose the Desperados can as their off-trade drink of choice for high energy occasions.

To gear up for Christmas, Desperados has also introduced ‘Verde’ in Tesco, Supervalu and Centra stores nationwide. Verde is the ultimate ‘twist’ on Desperados’ current party starting, tequila flavoured beer offering. With the addition of mint and lime, Verde unleashes an unbelievable, mojito-like taste sensation.
