CSNA National president, Sara Orme (Westmeath) and National vice president, Flora Crowe (Clare), will accompany CEO Vincent Jennings next week when the delegation meets the Minister to discuss areas of interest and concern to the 1,500 CSNA members.

The agenda will include matters relating to the Government’s Programme regarding Retail Crime, the CCPC report on “gouging”, the slow responses by Local Authorities to police and ensure compliance across a range of areas that have be delegated to them (solid fuel, single-use plastics, overseas internet trading) and the current legislative programme.

Retailers have been impacted by defamation actions and will need to see firm commitments from the Government to ensure we are adequately protected.

The delegation will provide details to the Minister of the types of scams and methods employed by claimants and their legal representatives.
