Coca-Cola HBC delivers ‘strong’ first half, as it ‘navigated challenging environments’

Coca-Cola HBC has delivered a ‘strong’ first half of the year, as it ‘navigated challenging environments in several markets’, its financial results for the six months ended 28 June 2024 show.
According to the bottler, its focused execution behind its 24/7 portfolio drove organic revenue growth of 13.6%.
Coca-Cola HBC noted that organic volume increased by 3.1%, with its strategic priority categories all driving growth, during the period.
Category breakdown
In a statement, Zoran Bogdanovic, CEO, Coca-Cola HBC, said: “Supported by continued targeted investment, we have delivered organic volume growth across each of our strategic priority categories of Sparkling, Energy and Coffee, and further increased our value share in Non-Alcoholic Ready-To-Drink (NARTD).”
The groups Sparkling category grew by 0.9%, Energy was up by 32.8% and Coffee grew by 21.6%.
Coca-Cola HBC noted that it collaborated with The Coca-Cola Company to capitalise on the start of the summer with music and sport, which drove growth in its Sparkling category.
Monster Energy Green Zero Sugar which launched in 16 markets in Coca-Cola HBC’s first quarter contributed to a strong performance of its Energy category, with strong ongoing activation through its second quarter, it added.
Coffee growth was ‘driven by increasing share of revenue in the out-of-home channel.’
Looking ahead
Bogdanovic, added: “Our teams continue to execute with excellence, creating joint value with customers by leveraging our bespoke capabilities and the strength of our 24/7 portfolio.
“While mindful of macroeconomic and geopolitical challenges as well as a more uncertain consumer environment, we are upgrading our guidance for the year, reflecting our strong first half performance and confidence that we can continue to win in the marketplace.”
