BWG wins top Logistics award
BWG Group has claimed the prestigious Overall Logistics & Transport Excellence Award at the 2018 Irish Logistics & Transport Awards at the Citywest Hotel, Dublin. The company's National Distribution Centre serves more than 1,000 convenience stores around Ireland and completes more than 800 deliveries every day.

BWG has won two of the record seven honours it was nominated for at the Logistics & Transport Excellence Awards, while also being the only wholesale and retail group in the country to be nominated this year. It also won the award for Logistics Company of the Year.
BWG Group manages its entire logistics operation through the National Distribution Centre in Dublin, which supplies over 1,040 Spar, Eurospar, Londis, MACE and XL stores, along with 20 Value Centre wholesale branches around the country.
Joanne Mellon, logistics director for BWG Foods said the company is delighted to have received the two awards on the back of its busiest year yet for the National Distribution Centre. “Our extended team have been working tirelessly towards this level of excellence for a number of years now,” Mellon said, “and this recognition proves that we have created a logistics network that is up there with the best in the world. It’s something that we’re very proud of.”
BWG’s state-of-the-art 240,000 sq. ft. distribution centre in Dublin’s Kilcarbery Business Park employs 300 people, and incorporates the Group’s entire ambient and chilled distribution, including the company’s bonded warehouse, making it one of the biggest facilities of its kind in the country. The centre handles more than 46 million cases each year, and completes approximately 800 deliveries every day.
