Burton’s Biscuit Co. has appointed SHS Sales and Marketing Ireland to look after the sale and distribution of its sweet and savoury biscuit portfolio in Ireland, in a move that comes into effect tomorrow (Tuesday, March 1, 2016).

Paul Brown, Burton’s Biscuit Co.’s sales director, said the appointment would provide a platform for accelerated growth of some of Ireland’s best-loved biscuit brands.

“We’ll be working closely with SHS Sales and Marketing to maximise current opportunities and to identify areas for growth, boosting Ireland’s biscuits category as we seek to realise the full potential of Burton’s sweet and savoury biscuits portfolio,” he said.

Des McCullough, sales director of SHS Sales and Marketing Ireland, added: “The biscuits category is one of Ireland’s most dynamic FMCG markets and we’re delighted to be representing one of its major players. We’ll be focusing on driving distribution of some of Ireland’s most popular biscuit brands which in turn will generate category growth.”

Burton’s supplies many of Ireland’s best known biscuit brands including Cadbury Biscuits*, Maryland, Jammie Dodgers, Wagon Wheels, Lyons and the recently-launched savoury biscuits, Fish ‘n’ Chips and Cathedral City Baked Bites. The sale and distribution of Burton’s Biscuits Co. products in Ireland was co-ordinated previously by Flanagan’s Foods.
