Aldi reopens Monread store Naas today
Since opening its first store in Clane in 2004, Aldi has invested over €71 million in Co. Kildare

Aldi has officially reopened its Monread store in Naas this morning (Thursday, 27 November) following a €3.5 million refurbishment.
The revamped store features a brighter, modern design offering a more pleasant shopping experience for Aldi customers in the area.
The €3.5 million upgrade showcases Aldi’s award-winning Project Fresh layout, new in-store bakery, self-checkouts, wider aisles and hi-spec fixtures and fittings.
Additionally, the store features 81 car park spaces and 18 bike spaces.
The new and improved Aldi store also boasts an impressive multi-feed external reverse vending machine that enables Aldi shoppers to deposit multiple DRS (Deposit Return Scheme) returns into the machine in one go.
This will be the first Aldi store in Ireland to offer this bulk return service.
Ahead of the store reopening, Anton Burihin, store manager, Aldi Monread, commented: “We are excited to welcome customers back to our new and improved store this Thursday [today].
“The redesigned layout simplifies and enhances the shopping journey, with new features like the bakery, bulk reverse vending machine, and self-checkouts significantly improving the overall experience.”

Community support
Aldi noted that it’s existing stores across Co. Kildare are deeply involved in their local communities.
To date, the stores have donated almost 250,000 meals to local charities through FoodCloud.
Each store also participates in Aldi’s Community Grants Programme, with Rosconnell Community Centre and Féileacáin some of the local charities that have benefitted from the programme in recent years.
Supplier support
Aldi currently works with a number of Irish suppliers across Co. Kildare, including Naas-based Irish Dog Foods.
Aldi highlighted that it is committed to expanding its Irish supply base and increasing the availability of locally produced Irish products across its store network.
The Monread store opening hours are:
- Mon to Sat: 8am – 10pm
- Sun & Bank Holidays: 9am – 9pm.
