Franchises have become part and parcel of the convenience offering in recent years. Trusted retail brands have been aligning with trusted food franchises in order to fulfil a consumer demand for choice, quality and familiarity in the food-to-go space. A busy forecourt can accommodate multiple franchises under the one roof to create a food court effect and the result is a symbiotic win for all concerned.

Camile spices up healthy options

Camile Thai Kitchen is Ireland’s brand-leading healthy Asian restaurant chain. With 60% (and growing) brand awareness, Camile is wellplaced for future growth. Camile has developed a ‘Petite Camile’ format for in-store placement. Operating from as little as 180sq ft, the format offers a range of healthy hot pots, and associated upsells. This is a very simple (no chefs), high speed concept, with minimal fit-out, that will suit larger stores in affluent areas.

Camile continues to grow strongly in Ireland and the UK.

Freshly Chopped ready for healthy growth

Freshly Chopped was founded in Dublin, Ireland in May 2012 by Brian Lee and Andy Chen through a pure love of health and fitness, after observing a lack of truly nutritious food available to people wanting to live a healthy lifestyle on-the-go. The name Chopped is derived from its unique way of preparing the food – open theatre style – using custom-made mezzaluna knives to provide fast healthy food over the counter.

At Freshly Chopped, the aim is to offer fresh, clean and nutritious food, served quickly. The mission is to offer simple and delicious ways to easily add healthy food choices into consumers’ busy days. Quality, fresh produce is prepared from the consumer’s personal choice of locally sourced Irish ingredients, where they can build their own bowl or choose from the full set menu at the open plan deli counter. Their selected salad is then sent to the open theatre chopping stations to be freshly chopped and dressed by friendly Choppers. Fresh healthy food, created in minimum time!

The team at Freshly Chopped are always looking to ensure sustainability of supply in their supply chain. To this end, they are also currently undertaking a large project to move towards a zero-carbon footprint, which includes new responsibly sourced compostable bowls.

Freshly Chopped is currently expanding its franchise network in Ireland and the UK and opening in exciting new territories in 2020/2021. Watch this space!

Feed the world with Zambrero

Globally, Zambrero has opened nearly 200 restaurants in Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Ireland and America this month alone! The real growth of the company has happened over the past three years by opening more than 50 restaurants a year in that period.

Zambrero is Australia’s largest Mexican restaurant franchise. Providing fresh, healthy, and flavoursome food, this is ‘a Mexican on a mission’ – to combat world hunger. Zambrero achieves its humanitarian aims through its ‘Plate 4 Plate’ initiative. For every burrito or bowl Zambrero sells every day of the year, a meal is donated to someone in need via Zambrero’s distribution partners Rise Against Hunger.

Zambrero, thanks to its customers, has donated more than 21 million meals around the world since it was founded in 2005 by Dr. Sam Prince.
