Plant a tree this Tetra Pak Tree Day

The Tree Council of Ireland, supported by Tetra Pak, is calling on primary school children across the country to get involved in Tetra Pak Tree Day this Thursday, 4 October 2018. The theme for this year’s campaign is “Be nature nice! or Bí dóighiúil don dúlra!” and primary school children are asked to look out for campaign’s mascot Sammy Squirrel who will feature on Avonmore school milk cartons, with messages on how to help the environment, throughout the campaign.

Tesco takes home 14 Awards at the National Parenting Product Awards…

Tesco Ireland took a total of 14 product awards at the annual National Parenting Product Awards which took place in Dublin. Now in its sixth year, the National Parenting Product Awards encompass 40+ categories ranging from nursery items to baby care products and travel systems. The winners of each category are decided by over 300 parents and experts who testa and trial each product. Tesco’s Gold awards included Tesco loves baby sponge 2 pack, Tesco f&f 3 pack of star and stripped print sleepsuits and Tesco f&f 3 pack of stretchy safari sleepsuits.

…while Aldi takes the top spot

Aldi was named Best Family Friendly Supermarket in Ireland at the 2018 National Parenting Product Awards, in recognition of the outstanding value for money and quality it offers Irish families. Winning more awards than any other retailer in Ireland for the second year running, Aldi cleaned up with a total of 13 awards this year, with five products topping their respective categories and winning the overall supermarket award also.

Subway launches new snacking range

Subway is introducing an all-new menu of delicious affordable products. The Subway Savers menu, is available in stores nationwide. It includes new tasty snacks and sides and is available at any time of the day. The snacks include Hash Browns, Chorizo Flatbread Pizza, Taco Beef Mini Wrap and Nachos.

Cavan national school wins €10,000 in Keelings Berry Breakfast Week competition

Keelings awarded a €10,000 prize for its Berry Breakfast Week to Crossreagh National School in Cavan this week. Leon, a third class pupil in the school, sent the winning 250-word essay into the Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show on Today FM when his teacher (and the school principal) Ms. Sinead Mulreany set the task for the 26 children in third class during Berry Breakfast Week in September. The kids enjoyed a morning of breakfast fun when the Ian Dempsey Show broadcast live from the school on Friday morning.
