Corleggy Hard Raw Goats Milk Cheese named Best Irish Cheese at World Cheese Awards 2016

Corleggy Hard Raw Goats Milk Cheese from Corleggy Cheeses has been revealed as the Best Irish Cheese, sponsored by Horgan’s Delicatessen Supplies, at the 29th annual World Cheese Awards, following over 3,000 cheeses being judged in a single day at the Kursaal Congress Centre in San Sebastián.

A total of one Super Gold, five Gold, three Silver and seven Bronze awards went to entries from Ireland this year. Among the other winners flying the flag for Ireland were a Gold winning Cashel Blue from Cashel Farmhouse Cheesemakers and a Silver winning Irish Vintage White Cheddar from Glenstal Foods.

Doña Paula enjoys the taste of success

Award-winning Argentinian wine brand Doña Paula has achieved some fantastic results in recent wine competitions held on both sides of the globe.

Wines from the Doña Paula stable in Europe have enjoyed success in the drinks business Global Malbec Masters competition coming top of the class with the ultimate ‘Master’ accolade for the 2012 El Alto Parcel series wine. Of the 13 gold medals awarded in total, two went to Doña Paula for its 2012 Selección de Bodega and 2012 Los Indios Parcel. The 2015 Estate Malbec and 2016 Los Cardos Malbec both received Silver medals. Meanwhile over in South American no less than 11 of the wines entered into the Descorchados competition produced a score of 90 points or more with the highest scores being awarded for Malbec’s from the ‘Parcel Selection’ range.
