Repak seeks nominations for second annual Pakman Awards
Folllowing the success of the inaugural Pakman Awards in 2015, Repak has launched the 2016 event and is currently seeking submissions for nominees

Repak has put out a call to all businesses, organisations, community groups and individuals in Ireland, seeking nominations for the second Pakman Awards, which will take place on 27 October at Dublin’s Intercontinental Hotel in Ballsbridge.
The Pakman Awards is a national awards programme that seeks to honour excellence in waste management and recycling. It was established in 2015 as a replacement for the Repak Recycling Awards, in order to allow more accessibility to organisations who demonstrate noble efforts towards sustainability and the environment. Where previously, the awards were only open to Repak members and clients, the Pakman Awards are open to any and all organisations who demonstrate their environmental waste management practice.
“The Pakman Awards is now a more inclusive format,” said Seamus Clancy, Repak’s CEO. “They now showcase not only the innovation and accomplishments of its members, but also Irish organisations, communities and individuals.
“We had a record number of invitations in 2015,” he said, “but with the help of our members and other organisations, we hope to supercede that number and make this year’s Awards the most competitive to date.”
The Pakman Award, which represents the overall winner from the 11 categories, is the grand prize recognising complete excellence in the environmental approach. This, along with the other categories, will be presented on the night at The Intercontinental Hotel on the 27 October.
The awards are sponsored by The Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government and The Irish Waste Management Association, ERP.
