Ahead of World Kindness Day on 13 November, Aldi is encouraging its shoppers to nominate store colleagues that have helped to brighten their day.

Whether they have assisted in finding the products you need during your shop or paused for a friendly chat, Aldi wants to know who has made a difference to customers through kindness.

Spa break

Store colleagues who receive the most nominations in each region will receive a spa break for two as a thank you for their hard work and dedication.

To participate, shoppers should submit the colleagues name, store location and no more than 100 words on why their nomination deserves to win to cbie.pr@Aldi.ie by 11 December 2024.

“At Aldi, we want to acknowledge the impact that small gestures can have, especially in today’s fast-paced world,” said Padraig Barry, communications director, Aldi Ireland.

Barry hopes this initiative highlights the essential role Aldi’s colleagues play in contributing to a welcoming and supportive environment for its customers.

“We believe that every act of kindness deserves to be recognised and celebrated, which is why we are calling on customers around Ireland to help us give back to our amazing colleagues.”

Wage increase

Aldi Ireland increased its hourly pay rates for store colleagues from 1 February 2024, maintaining its position as Ireland’s best paying supermarket.

Aldi pays all store assistants up to €16.90 an hour, with a market leading entry rate of €14.80 an hour.
