Tesco unveils new look Oranmore store

Tesco has recently opened the doors to its newly revamped store in Oranmore, Co. Galway.

The retailer noted that it has undertaken a multimillion-euro refurbishment, which sees the store footprint increase by 4,000 square foot to 36,000 square foot.

Catherine Doyle, store manager, Tesco Oranmore, said: “Customers will see huge changes, with upgrades to every aspect of the store, making the whole shopping experience much more enjoyable.”

New features 

The store now features a spacious new fresh food department, an expanded home section, a dedicated off-licence and bakery, along with an F&F clothing department and a new look Tesco Mobile shop.

The Oranmore store will also have a brand-new Yo Sushi kiosk where customers can enjoy fresh sushi, Japanese street food, and other dishes. Customers will also be able to avail of grocery home shopping with deliveries launching in the coming months.

Local brands 

Many Galway based brands can be found on the shelves including Galway Kitchen, All About Kombucha, Divilly’s and Butlers Bakery to name a few.

Paul Healy, retail operations director, Tesco Ireland said that he is sure the newly renovated store will be well received by customers.

“We hope customers will be pleased with the extensive changes we have made to this store, offering a much more modern shopping experience,” he added.

“We are delighted also to play our part in such a vibrant community here in Oranmore, and plan to do so for many years to come.”

Supporting local community

Tesco highlighted that it is a proud supporter of the communities it serves.

To date its Community Fund has helped support thousands of organisations across the country from GAA clubs to children’s charities, it added.

In its first campaign the Oranmore store will support the locality with donations to three local causes, these include Oranmore Senior Citizens, Kilcolgan Community Project and Oranmore Community First Responders.
