Superquinn takes 22 golds at food awards
Superquinn leaves London victorious after scooping 22 golds at the Great Taste Awards

Superquinn walked away with an astounding 22 gold medals for its food from the prestigious Great Taste Awards, in London last month. Known as ‘the Oscars of the food industry,’ the awards attract over 4,500 entrants from across the UK and Ireland, If deemed worthy they are accredited with the gold standard or possibly the highest merit of three stars, for the very best products.
Superquinn was awarded five three-star gold awards for its top quality Irish products, including SQ Ultimate Chocolate ice-cream, produced in Fermoy, Co Cork, and SQ Blackcurrant Preserve, from a family-run producer in Wexford. SQ Blackcurrant Yoghurt, SQ Cashel Blue cheese, and its traditional white pudding, were also given the top award. Among the remaining one and two-star gold winners were: Superquinn’s dry-aged rib eye steak; SQ Gortnamona cheese; SQ thick hand-carved ham; SQ Sillan Or Chicken with Basil Pesto; SQ Brocolli and Cashel Blue Soup; SQ Coffee, and SQ Extra Tender Boneless leg of lamb with mint sauce, matured for longer on the bone for greater taste and tenderness (developed exclusively for Superquinn).
