Stewart Gilliland and Tony Smurfit appointed to C&C Board

The C&C Group has appointed Stewart Gilliland and Tony Smurfit as independent non-executive Directors to the Group’s Board of Directors.

Stewart served as Chief Executive Officer of the multinational dairy products producer Müller Dairy (UK) Ltd from 2006 to 2010, joining Müller from leading global brewer Interbrew SA where he held a number of senior international roles in markets including Europe, Canada, the UK and Ireland. 

Prior to this he worked with Whitbread Beer Company, a division of Whitbread plc (the UK’s largest hotel and restaurant group) for 14 years. He’s also a non-executive Director of Booker Group plc, Vianet Group plc and Sutton & East Surrey Water plc as well as being a non-executive on the board of the Department for Communities and Local Government in the UK.

Tony Smurfit is President and Chief Operations Officer as well as an Executive Director of Smurfit Kappa Group, one of the world’s largest integrated manufacturers of paper-based packaging products, a position he’s held since 2002.

He previously held the role of Chief Executive of Smurfit Europe, SKG’s largest division, from 1999 to 2002.  Prior to this he served as Chief Executive of Smurfit France and worked in a number of divisions in SKG both in Europe and the United States….
