Spar launches Summer Picnic Recipe Series with Donal Skehan

Spar has partnered with Donal Skehan to launch a series of digital videos aimed at inspiring and exciting Irish consumers ahead of the warmer weather this summer.
The past two years have given us all an appreciation of outdoor living, from celebrating with family and friends in back gardens, to packing up a picnic and heading on a road trip to explore the beauty of the Irish countryside. With this in mind, Donal has filmed the new ‘Donal’s Picnic Basket’ series for Spar in his home kitchen in Howth, where he’s never far from a scenic spot in which to enjoy some al fresco dining.
The videos feature Donal creating quick and tasty recipes perfect for a glorious summer picnic or casual back garden dining, all with ingredients from his local Spar store. Through incorporating Spar Range ingredients in the recipes, shoppers can be ensured of a quality range of fresh and ambient products at an attractive price point.

Running across Spar’s social media platforms for the month of May, viewers will have the chance to learn how to build a colourful Stuffed Rainbow Baguette, packed with flavourful fresh and healthy ingredients. Donal will also take viewers through the steps involved in rustling up a simple and tasty Chopping Board Tomato and Basil Pesto with Pasta, while a sumptuous Raspberry and White Chocolate Brownie recipe is the perfect sweet treat to wrap up and bring outdoors for an al fresco adventure.
