This Christmas, Spar is putting a new twist on tradition with the introduction of a strictly limited-edition Spar Chicken Fillet Roll Christmas bauble.

Inspired by Ireland’s deep affection for the iconic Chicken Fillet Roll, the bauble blends festive sparkle with a wink of humour, transforming a national favourite into the most unexpected (and delicious looking) ornament of Christmas 2025.

A long-time champion of fun, warmth, and community at Christmas, Spar is leaning into the growing trend for quirky, nostalgic decorations.

Christmas spirit

This one-of-a-kind keepsake captures the spirit of the season; joy, togetherness, and a touch of playful originality, while celebrating Spar’s place as the true home of the Chicken Fillet Roll.

To launch the campaign, SPAR has created a retro-inspired shopping channel parody starring Irish comedian and podcaster Tony Cantwell, whose signature style of joyful absurdity perfectly complements the festive fun.

The video, drenched in 80s nostalgia and glittering charm, will run across Meta and TikTok.

Only 500 baubles have been crafted exclusively for SPAR, making this an irresistible collector’s item.

Shoppers can enter for a chance to win by scanning QR codes in selected stores—ensuring a flurry of excitement in the countdown to Christmas.

Helen Lalor, Spar marketing manager, said: “Under the tree at Spar, we love creating moments of joy, and this year we wanted to do something truly unexpected and fun.

“The Spar Chicken Fillet Roll is such a beloved part of Irish life, so turning it into a festive bauble felt like the perfect way to celebrate our heritage with a smile.

“The reaction so far has been incredible, people love the novelty, the nostalgia and the cheekiness of it. It’s a little bit innovative, a lot of fun, and absolutely Spar.”

The festive cheer doesn’t stop there.

As part of Spar’s continuing tradition of Christmas magic, some lucky travellers who arrived at Dublin Airport last week got to enjoy a special Christmas FM Outside Broadcast at the Spar store at Dublin Airport and receive an exclusive bauble as a surprise welcome home.
