ADM Londis has undergone several key personnel changes, with further restructuring mooted to be in the pipeline. Paddy McGarry has stepped down as former joint chief executive and accepted a position as a non-executive director on the board, while Peter Foley has been appointed commercial director for the group.

Foley, who previously worked for both Musgrave’s and Mangan’s with particular focus on wholesale business development, has been given a four year consultancy contract. In this newly created senior role, he will take responsibility for the management of all commercial operations and lead the sales, purchasing and marketing teams.

Stephen O’Riordan is to continue meanwhile as chief executive of the group, which earlier this year reported an increase in profit before tax to E6.1m on a wholesale turnover of E371m.

ADM Londis has stated that “the changes to senior management structure are part of a concerted effort to accelerate strategic growth following the impressive results of the past number of years.”

However there have been reports within the industry that further re-structuring is planned under Foley’s patronage, with current sales roles being re-defined and tightened.

Commenting on the appointment of Peter Foley, CEO Stephen O’Riordan said: “Peter’s appointment is a significant step forward for ADM Londis. We recognised the need to adapt and develop our existing structure in order to ensure the Londis Group continues its forward momentum within the grocery retail market.”
