Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM), has announced Scally’s SuperValu in Clonakilty, Co. Cork has scooped the inaugural BIM Seafood Circle ‘Supermarket Seafood Counter of the Year, 2010’. This is only presented to seafood retailers that exceed the stringent standards set by the Seafood Circle, an initiative developed by BIM which recognises and supports outlets that consistently offer top quality seafood. BIM recently announced its Seafood Circle 2010 members.

Total membership now stands at 175 nationwide with 98 hospitality, 41 seafood specialists and 36 supermarket seafood counter members, demonstrating standards are rising every year. Growing numbers of supermarkets are achieving membership and SuperValu in particular, has worked closely with the initiative and 11 new SuperValu stores are now members.
