Long serving Dublin retailer Joe Sweeney is the new vice president of NFRN Ireland, the trade association which represents independent newsagents and convenience stores throughout Ireland and the U.K. Joe was asked to join the executive of NFRN Ireland in 2008. He became vice president in April 2010 at NFRN Ireland’s AGM in Athlone. Joe sees the growth in the black market tobacco trade as one of the greatest threats to independent retailers’ businesses.
