The second Wendy’s restaurant in Ireland recently opened in the Tullamore Retail Park, Tullamore, Co. Offaly, creating more than 60 new jobs locally.
Operated in Ireland through a development agreement with Corrib Oil and The Wendy’s Company, the new Tullamore restaurant includes dine-in seating, a drive-thru, and home delivery options.
New local jobs
With plans to expand to 10 locations over the coming years, Corrib Oil noted that it expects its Wendy’s workforce to grow to 300 restaurant team members in Ireland. Additional site announcements are expected in the period ahead.
Commenting on the announcement, Phillip Monks, chief marketing officer, Corrib Oil, said: “The opening of the Tullamore restaurant and drive-thru marks another exciting milestone for Wendy’s in Ireland and reflects the strong response the brand has received since entering the market.
“The level of customer interest, engagement and support we have experienced has been hugely encouraging.
“We have recruited a great local team, led by our manager, Kevin Kelly, and we look forward to bringing Wendy’s fresh food to even more communities across Ireland over the coming years.”
Major milestone
The opening marks another major milestone in the iconic global brand’s growth across Ireland, following the successful launch of its first Irish location at Mahon Point Shopping Centre in Cork last year.
Michael Clarke, managing director, Europe, The Wendy’s Company, added: “We are proud to see Wendy’s continue its growth in Ireland with the opening of the Tullamore restaurant.
“Corrib Oil has proven to be a strong partner, and we’re excited to continue bringing Wendy’s ‘Globally great, locally loved’ experience to more customers across Ireland as we expand further across the country.”
The Tullamore restaurant’s menu features Wendy’s famous square hamburgers made with 100% fresh Irish beef supplied by Irish food company, Kepak.
Its 100% fresh Irish chicken burgers and tenders are supplied by Mayo-based food company, Western Brand and hand-breaded on site.
