Flogas to sponsor a key race at Hennessy Gold Cup Day

Charlie Hebdo delivery of 2,000 copies expected on Friday

Over 2,000 copies of the first ‘Charlie Hebdo’ magazine to be published following the deadly Paris shootings are expected to hit the shelves in Ireland on Friday.Between 120 and 140 newsagents and bookshops have placed orders for what will be seen as a souvenir English language edition of the magazine, which is expected to retail for €5.25 here.

Free small food business start-up seminar for Dublin

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) is holding a free ‘Small Food Business Start-Up Seminar’. The half-day seminar brings together experts from the FSAI and the Health Service Executive to provide assistance and advice on compliance with food safety legislation.  The event takes place from 08:00am to 13:00pm on Wednesday, 28 January at Crowne Plaza Northwood, Northwood Park, Santry, Dublin 9.

Cill Dara RFC’s Majella Mcgrath and Sharon Heffernan named the latest Wolf Blass and Leinster “Local Legends”

Last October Wolf Blass and Leinster Rugby announced the start of their “Local Legends” initiative that seeks to find the unsung heroes of the local rugby scene in Leinster. For December the unprecedented step has been taken to select not one but two people – Majella McGrath and Sharon Heffernan of Cill Dara RFC – who have done an immense amount of work for their club and rugby in the area.

The campaign continues until the end of the rugby season. Entries for January’s “Local Legend” can be sent in to wolfblass@findlaterws.ie or via www.facebook.com/wolf-blass-ireland. Entrants must be over 18.
