Marketing and communications manager at Safefood

Dermot Moriarty has been appointed marketing and communications manager at Safefood. In his new role, Dermot will facilitate the development and implementation of Safefood’s communications strategies, which involves the promotion and understanding of core food safety and nutrition messages among consumers on the island of Ireland. Specifically Dermot will manage the advertising, public relations and market research functions.
Dermot has worked with safefood since February 2006, formerly as communications executive with the organisation. Prior to joining safefood, Mr Moriarty spent five years in London workingin agency and in-house public relations positions. Before that, Dermot worked at Grayling PR in Dublin, on accounts including McVitie’s, Ballygowan, Intel, Weetabix and Ulster Bank. A native of Dublin, Dermot was educated in Coláiste Mhuire and holds a BA in Economics and History from University College Dublin and a Diploma in Public Relations from the Public Relations Institute of Ireland.
