Lidl Ireland has launched its biggest ever Japanese ‘Vitasia’ food range.

The retailer noted that its new ‘Taste of the World’ will be available from Thursday 11 July (while stocks last.)

The new food range will feature a wide variety of authentic Japanese dishes, snacks, desserts and beverages, with prices starting at just €0.59.

The expanded range will features more than 60 products including traditional Japanese staples such as sushi, ginger and a diverse range of rice and noodles, as well as pocky and matcha tea to a selection of fresh sushi platters made locally by Japanese food specialists in Co. Dublin.

Sushi range

The discounter noted that it will also stock a Sushi Kit (€5.99) which includes a bamboo rolling mat, two pairs of chopsticks and a step by step recipe card.

Alongside Nori Sheets (€1.49), Sushi Rice (€1.99), Rice Vinegar (€1.99), Asian Sauces (€1.39) and whatever fresh ingredients you want to put inside, Lidl has the whole collection to become your very own sushi chef.

Lidl Ireland will also offer a diverse range of Fresh Sushi Platters (€10.49), made locally in Dublin by hand prepared Japanese food specialists, Oishii Sushi.

Other dishes

The new range will also feature a vast range of Japanese side dishes such as Gyoza (from €2.19), and street food, such as Yakitori Chicken Skewers (€2.19).

Lidl will also stock an oriental range of mochi dessert from sweet Lime and Yuzu Sorbet Mochi (€4.79) to more savoury Black Sesame Ice Cream Mochi (€4.79).
