bn-2016-etiq-174-bottle-shotNovember is a big month for wine lovers all over the world as the always-anticipated Beaujolais Noveau hits the market, and 17 November has been marked as the launch date for this year’s vintage. Celebrating the end of the harvest, George Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau will be distributed around the world on that very date.

Harvesting the 2016 Beaujolais started on 15 September last and took place over three weeks. Unseasonably excellent weather saw the warmest and sunniest September in the region for 50 years; as a result, the harvest has been of excellent quality, according to experts.

Each Beaujolais vintage is unique and the 2016 Beaujolais Nouveau is an expression of weather, time and the craft of the wine maker.

“This vintage is deep ruby in colour,” according to Georges Duboeuf.  “It’s an assault of juicy fruit flavours and on the nose there is  delicious palate of beautiful fresh aromas bursting with strawberries and raspberries.”

As distributor for Georges Duboeuf in Ireland, Febvre will be taking its first delivery of Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau – with its distinctive, colourful bottle, just in time to have it delivered to off-licences and restaurants around Ireland. Interestingly, French law dictates that Beaujolais Nouveau cannot be released on sale until the third Thursday in November each year.

Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau 2016 will be available nationwide with a  RRP of €12.99.
