The Griffin Londis Group raised €57,500 for the St James’s Hospital Foundation during a successful car giveaway raffle. Londis has had a presence in St James’s Hospital since 2011 and has been long-term supporters of the foundation.

Supported by Aryzta, the raffle saw Annette Leahy from Dublin 8 receive a brand-new Kia Rio car.

“We are delighted with the success of the raffle,” said Seamus Griffin, CEO Griffin Retail. “All the money raised goes to the Foundation to enhance facilities, support, innovation and research, provide education and training for hospital employees and elevate the standard of care for all patients. We are absolutely thrilled to have raised such a significant sum for this very worthy cause.”

Londis sales director, Conor Hayes, paid tribute to the generosity of Seamus Griffin in supporting St James’s Foundation, commenting: “I want to commend Griffin’s Londis for their commitment to the St James’s Hospital Foundation. This is a very worthy cause and it’s important to have this type of support in our society. Londis is very proud to be associated with this worthy initiative and raising €57,500 is a marvellous achievement and something to be justifiably proud of.”

Griffin’s Retail Group has a strong history of supporting worthy causes, in particular their commitment to Londis’ official charity partners over the years, as well as their various fund-raising activities on behalf of Crumlin Hospital, the Irish Hospice and St James’s Hospital.

Each year, the Griffin Retail Group’s Londis stores raise more than €100,000 for all its charity partners.
