An ‘Irish bar owners’ convention is set to take place in Galway this  month. Organised by IrishPubsGlobal.com, a new global network for Irish bar owners and managers outside Ireland, it’s hoped that the convention will see Irish pub proprietors from all over the world outside Ireland arrive in Galway for discussions and seminars on food and drink, tourism, practical tips from workshops on marketing, branding, stocktaking and cost-reductions as well as the opportunity to network.
Enda O’Coineen, President of Irish pubs Global, pointed out that the event would be a great opportunity to showcase Galway’s thriving pub scene and connect Galway around the world.
Running from the 21st to the 23rd September, at the Galway Bay Hotel, he explained, "We also want to promote Ireland and support worthwhile projects, from sending customers on holidays to Ireland and buying Irish food and products".
Among those who’ll be in attendance will be representatives from Bord Bia, Tourism Ireland, Diageo and Irish Distillers.
The conference also coincides with the Arthur’s Day festivities which take place after the conference on the 23rd and attendees are being encouraged to stay on for the 56th annual Galway Oyster Festival.
A golf competition will also be held for attendees and a range of good food, drink and music will feature each evening.
