Ireland’s love affair with gin shows no signs of slowing down, with gin continuing to be the drink of the moment. With winter approaching, Aldi is capitalising on the season as well as consumer taste, by launching its first ever Gingerbread Gin Liqueur, which will be available in stores from 1 October with an RRP of €14.99. The liqueur, characterised by warming notes of ginger, cinnamon, vanilla and orange is best enjoyed with a splash of tonic water or simply served neat over ice.

Providing an innovative alternative to traditional festive tipples left out for Santa, the supermarket’s newest spirit is expected to be a hit with shoppers, having been handcrafted using one of the biggest Christmas flavour trends this year – gingerbread.

John Curtin, Group Buying Director at Aldi Ireland said the retailer is delighted to offer this unique variety to shoppers as the festive season approaches. “At Aldi, we pride ourselves on innovation,” he says, “and the launch of these exciting new products is a real testament to the hard work of our buying team, who work incredibly closely with suppliers to bring great-value, quality spirits to our shelves.”

Tom Doorley, Aldi’s Wine Expert, commented on the new gin’s irresistible price point. “The gin bubble is yet to burst,” Doorley says, “and it’s fantastic that consumers can turn to Aldi for award-winning, great quality bottles that won’t break the bank. The brand new Gingerbread Gin Liqueur is not only delicious, but it’s a brand new festive tipple, that is sure to delight gin lovers this Christmas season!“

Gingerbread Gin Liqueur goes on sale in 133 Aldi stores across Ireland on Monday 1 October.
