The annual Eurospar Guild has taken place at the Mullingar Park Hotel, at which ten of the company’s supermarkets were presented with the Customer First @ Eurospar award.

Customer First @ Eurospar is a new retail operations standards programme that the comapny is implementing across its supermarket group. The criteria are aligned to Eurospar’s Six Pillar Retail Strategy, which has been unanimously endorsed by their retailers as best practice in retail.

The assessment criteria are structured to focus on best practice and innovation in supermarket retailing, resulting in 13 individual assessment elements focused on all areas of store operations, including an emphasis on fresh food departments. The programme also includes the EIQA Food Safety assessment criteria.

At the event, Eurospar managing director Malachy Hanberry commended the winning stores, and pointed out how Eurospar supermarkets are renowned for their industry-leading standards. “The new Eurospar Standards Programme was developed with our retailers and for our retailers,” he said, “to ensure that our supermarkets are leading the way in terms of fresh food retailing, innovation, food safety and customer service. Eurospar stores around Ireland are becoming famous for their fresh foods, and the Customer First @ Eurospar programme works to assist retailers in achieving this aim.”

The stores that achieved Customer First @ EUROSPAR were:

Baltinglass, Co Wicklow, Barnhall, Co Dublin, Bayside, Co Dublin, Dunboyne, Co Meath, Dungarvan, Co Waterford, Hartstown, Dublin 15, Kilcullen, Co Kildare, Kilkenny, Co Kilkenny, Lucan, Co Dublin, Skerries, Co Dublin.
