Commercial property consultants CBRE Ireland today released statistics on the volume of investment spend in the Irish market during 2017.

According to CBRE, more than €2.5 billion was invested in commercial real estate in the Republic during the last 12 months in more than 214 individual investment transactions extending to more than €1 million.

“While a number of other transactions may yet sign before December 31st, the outturn for the year to date is in excess of €2.5 billion, said Marie Hunt, executive director & head of research at CBRE Ireland, “with the sale of The Square shopping centre in Tallaght being the largest investment transaction signed in the last 12 month period.

“This represents a large volume of individual transactions although in the absence of delveraging activity and a lack of portfolio sales during 2017, the volume of investment spend is down compared to the extraordinary period between 2014 and 2016,” she added.
