It’s always great to see community-focused initiatives in shopping centres across the country at this time of year. With that in mind, ShelfLife was delighted to see that 60 makers and creators of the Drogheda Cottage Market are all set to host their first of three special Christmas Market days, commencing on Saturday, 2 December.

This festive market will be located at the former Next unit in Scotch Hall Shopping Centre and it will be open to browse on three dates in December; Saturday, 2 December, 9 December and on Sunday, 10 December.

The Drogheda Cottage Market features over 60 producers and creators offering an eclectic array of foods, drinks and crafts. There will be an array of original gift ideas from jewellery designers to Indian Street Food vendors, artwork, photography, handcrafted skincare, candles, Irish design fashion, books and vinyl. Visitors can pick up all manner of gourmet goodness from award-winning breads, cakes, chutneys, and cheese, to olive oils and local honey.

The atmosphere will be lit up with beats from a live DJ and the three market dates will see the makers and creators open at 10 am each day and close at 5 pm. For more details and to see who will be trading with them check out The Cottage Market Drogheda Facebook and @CottageMarketDrogheda on Instagram.

Markets have been at the heart of communities for centuries and our planned three days for the Drogheda Cottage Market will help to bring our talents makers and creators right into the centre of our community where visitors and locals can come along, meet the makers, enjoy the crafts and local award-winning produce in a wonderfully festive atmosphere,” said Eimear Cullen, organiser of the Drogheda Cottage Market.

Just some of the brands that visitors can enjoy at the Drogheda Christmas Cottage Market are, Emma’s So Natural Candles Esker, Little Sewing Tree, Goose Loves, Margaret Walsh Design Studio, Maple Tree Pottery, Vicky’s Little Book Worms, Stories by Ola, Thread Art Studio, Hillside Bakery, Urban Indian, Drogheda Honey and the award-winning Tastees and Crawfords Rock Seaweed.
