Divilly Brothers, the family-owned meat producer with roots stretching back almost a century, has recently announced a major nationwide expansion with Tesco Ireland, marking a significant milestone in the continued growth of the Irish food brand.

Divilly Brothers first began supplying Tesco stores in October 2022, following Tesco’s acquisition of Joyce’s Supermarkets.

Starting with eight local stores in the west of Ireland, the partnership quickly gained momentum.

Strong customer demand

In May 2023, Divilly Brothers secured listings in a further eight Tesco stores, reflecting strong customer demand and growing brand recognition.

Now, in 2026, following the successful launch of Ireland’s first Bord Bia approved No Added Nitrite ham range, Divilly Brothers has expanded even further.

The company’s cooked meats range is now available in 96 Tesco stores nationwide, with its traditional breakfast meats stocked in 23 Tesco stores across Ireland.

This latest expansion represents a major step forward for the Galway-based business, which continues to invest in product innovation, food standards, and local employment while remaining proudly family-owned.

As proud members of Love Irish Food, Divilly Brothers remains committed to supporting Irish producers and bringing high-quality, trusted Irish-made products to more shoppers across the country.

Commenting on the announcement, Shane Divilly, commercial director at Divilly Brothers, said: “This is a major milestone for our business.

“From starting in a number of stores in 2022 to now reaching shoppers nationwide, it reflects the strength of the Divilly Brothers brand and the hard work of our entire team.

“The successful launch of our Bord Bia approved No Added Nitrite ham range has been a real breakthrough for us, and we are delighted to see the range continue to grow in availability.

“As we approach 100 years in business next year, it is an exciting time for our family business and we are proud to be continuing to expand while staying true to our roots in the west of Ireland.”

Senior buyer MFP (Meat, Fish, Poultry) with Tesco Ireland, Brendan Swords, said: “The relationship with Divilly’s has grown from strength to strength over the past five years, and we are delighted to range their quality products across a growing number of our stores.

“The partnership highlights Tesco’s long-standing commitment to supporting Irish suppliers and helping to grow jobs in local communities.”

The nationwide rollout underlines Divilly Brothers’ ongoing expansion, with the company continuing to invest in new product development, production capacity, and long-term growth as it looks ahead to its centenary year in 2027.
