The Coca-Cola Company has appointed a new country manager for its Irish operation. Petre Sandru, who has been with the company for 12 years, will lead the Irish arm of the organisation as it grows the company’s various brands.

Sandru, originally from Romania, replaces Aedamar Howlett, who has been promoted to marketing director of Coca-Cola’s UK & Ireland operation. Initially, he was brand manager for the company there, before becoming commerical director for Romania, Moldova, Bulgaria and Albania, and later country manager for Romania and Moldova.

Sandru has been praised for his leadership skills, and won the People Leader of the Year award in the Central and Eastern Europe Business Unit.

“I am thrilled to be taking up this role,” he said upon the announcement. “This is a very exciting moment for Coca-Cola. The people based here are known throughout our business for their creativity and commitment to innovations. I look forward to working with them to bring our brands closer to consumers, create value and make a difference.”
