Christmas parties – a genuine opportunity to strengthen team culture, says Fuel
Christmas season, the agency notes, is one of the best opportunities all year to put that idea into practice

Fuel has said that a growing number of businesses are treating this year’s Christmas party season as a genuine opportunity to strengthen team culture, not just mark the end of the year.
According to the experience and entertainment group, ‘opportunity is well timed’.
Gallup’s State of the Global Workplace 2026 report found 49% of employees in Ireland say they are thriving in their overall lives, level with the European average and well ahead of the 34% global average.
Great Place to Work’s Employee Experience in Ireland 2025 report, based on almost 60,000 employees, found Ireland ranks above the European average for trust in leadership, with 59% of Irish employees saying they work in a high-trust environment, compared to 55% across Europe.
‘Getting it right’
The upside of getting it right is clear, Fuel noted.
Great Place to Work’s 2026 Best Workplaces benchmark found 86% of employees at Ireland’s Best Workplaces say their organisation is a great place to work, compared with roughly 60% at a typical Irish workplace, a gap Fuel highlighted ‘shows exactly how much is possible when a business is intentional about culture and belonging.’
Jamie Deasy, managing director, Fuel who was recently named one of Europe’s top 50 Event Agency Leaders, commented: “Ireland is already ahead on trust, and the country’s best workplaces are proving what’s possible when you invest properly in culture.
“We’re seeing that ambition directly in the Christmas and end of year party briefs landing on our desk this year.
“Companies aren’t just asking for a good night out anymore, they want their teams to walk away feeling like they belong.
“That’s a brilliant thing to be asking for, and it’s completely achievable.”
