Chopped, Irish healthy food company, and Too Good To Go, a marketplace for surplus food, have recently announced the rollout of their partnership across Dublin — making it easier than ever for people to save good, fresh, healthy food from going to waste.

Following a successful pilot, participating Chopped stores across Dublin are now live on the Too Good To Go app.

This partnership allows Chopped to reduce daily food waste by offering Too Good To Go Surprise Bags filled with surplus ingredients and food – giving customers the opportunity to enjoy fresh food at a reduced price, while preventing it from going to waste.

Surprise Bags

Users rescuing Surprise Bags from Chopped can expect to find a selection of surplus ingredients including salad bases, toppings, wraps and other fresh, wholesome items, at an average price of €4.99.

Too Good To Go is a certified B Corp and social impact company on a mission to reduce food waste.

It operates the world’s largest marketplace for surplus food through a free app that connects users with local bakeries, supermarkets, cafés and restaurants.

These businesses offer ‘Surprise Bags’ – unclaimed, perfectly good food, at a reduced price, helping to prevent waste while offering great value.

In Ireland alone, more than one million Surprise Bags have already been rescued.

Together, Chopped and Too Good To Go are creating a positive environmental impact.

Kent Lim, CEO and owner of Chopped, commented: “At Chopped, our mission has always been simple — to serve the freshest ingredients possible, every single day.

“Partnering with Too Good To Go is a natural extension of that mission.

“Not only does it allow us to reduce food waste across our stores, it also means our surplus fresh food can continue to nourish people in our communities.

“It’s a brilliant collaboration that brings us closer to achieving zero waste, while reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and conscious living.”

Sophie Trueman, country director for UK and Ireland at Too Good To Go Ireland, said: “We’re so excited to bring our partnership with Chopped to even more people across Ireland.

“From fresh salads to tasty wraps, it’s exactly the kind of quality food that should never go to waste.

“At Too Good To Go, we believe that small actions — like rescuing a Surprise Bag — can add up to a big difference.

“This partnership makes it easy for anyone to join our growing community, enjoy great food at great value, and help fight food waste, one bite at a time.”
