Bord Bia has revealed plans for a series of events across Ireland during October that will “allow lovers of cheese to engage directly with the product”, discovering and sampling farmhouse cheeses and new varieties as well as picking up top tips and unique cheese recipes.

Retailers, restaurants, pubs and hotels will host these events, according to Bord Bia, and producers will get in on the act too. The public will have the opportunity to visit dairy farms and meet the makers to see how cheese is produced and learn the story behind the immensely popular food.

These farm visits are free but must be booked online in advance.
