Aldi has opened a new store in Oranmore, Co. Galway, located at New Town Centre.

This is Aldi’s eighth store in Co. Galway, creating 20 new jobs for the area and bringing the total number of Aldi stores in Ireland to 114.

To celebrate the opening of the new store, Aldi’s “Taste Truck” rolled into Oranmore as customers were served up with free breakfast treats.  Each breakfast was prepared using products from Aldi’s breakfast range.

Galway Bay FM’s Baycaster was also on site, while five lucky Aldi shoppers scooped €100 each in Aldi shopping vouchers.

Speaking at the store opening, Mark Mullins, manager of the store said: “We are delighted to open our new Oranmore store and look forward to welcoming many new customers from the local area.  Each Aldi store we have opened so far has been a fantastic success and we are looking forward to serving the local community.”

Over 50% of Aldi’s supplier spend is with Irish suppliers, producers and manufacturers.
