Alcohol prices up 1.1%
Overall alcohol prices showed an increase of 1.1 per cent on November 2010 while they were 0.2 per cent up over the three month period and 0.1 per cent up on October.

A decrease of 0.1 per cent was recorded in off-trade alcohol and tobacco prices in November when compared with November 2010, according to the CSO. Over the three-month period September to November a price decrease of 0.4 per cent was registered while a decrease of 0.6 per cent was recorded for November compared to October.
Off-trade alcohol prices for the month decreased by 1.5 per cent while they were down 1.7 per cent for the year.
Price decreases were recorded for spirits (2.4 per cent) and wine & cider (2.0 per cent) in November compared to October and an increase of 0.6 per cent was recorded for beer.
Over the course of the year, spirits prices rose 1.5 per cent while wine & cider prices fell 2.7 per cent. Beer prices fell 1.7 per cent.
In the on-trade, wine & cider prices fell 0.1 per cent in November compared to October. The other two categories registered no change.
Over the course of the year, beer prices fell 0.3 per cent while wine & cider prices dropped 0.5 per cent. Soft drinks and mineral waters also fell in price in the on-trade by 0.8 per cent.
Prices generally this November were 0.1 per cent down on November 2010.
