Next month, Soul Wines, representing a group of wine producers from Portugal’s Douro region in nothern Portugal, will be holding a wine tasting event at Dublin’s Radisson Blu Hotel, from 12.30pm until 6.30pm.

Thirty-five producers from the Douro will be travelling to Dublin to take part in the event, at which they will showcase their wines with a view to acquiring representation in the Irish market. At the same event, a Masterclass focusing on the region’s geographical and stylistic uniqueness will be headed by the Tomas Clancy of the Sunday Business Post. Early booking is advised for this event as places are limited.

The focus of the Soul Wine Fair will be the strengths that help Portuguese wine stand out among Old World wines. The country’s main strengths are the diversity of its regions and its wealth of native grape varieties.

In recent years, wines from Portugal have become highly sought-after, and wines from the Douro region (named for the river which flows across the north of the country) have been creating waves in the wine world, and receiving recognition for both their quality and innovative styles.

To attend this event, you are invited to contact Jean Smullen on 086 816 8468, or email jean@jeansmullen.com.

Programme:

1.30pm – 6.30pm Soul Wine Fair

12.30pm – 2pm – Masterclass: “Terrior and Still Wine Classification in the Douro Region” by Tomas Clancy
