Aldi opens new Sallynoggin store creating 20 new jobs

Aldi has further increased its presence in the greater Dublin area with the opening of its latest store in Sallynoggin, Co. Dublin. Twenty jobs have been created at the new store.
The new Sallynoggin store is Aldi’s 18th store in Dublin, bringing the total number of Aldi stores in Ireland to 124, with the first Aldi store in Ireland opening back in November 1999.
Speaking at the store opening, Josef Skala, manager of Aldi’s new Sallynoggin store said: “We are delighted to open our new Sallynoggin store and look forward to welcoming many new customers from the local area. Each Aldi store we have opened so far has been a huge success. We are pleased to make the quality, value and variety of our grocery range available to more people throughout South County Dublin.”
Aldi certainly appears eager to promote its continued strong support of Irish food, stating that it has forged relationships with 70 new Irish suppliers over the last five years. It currently works with more than 175 Irish suppliers, and over 50% of Aldi’s supplier spend is spent with Irish suppliers, producers and manufacturers.
Aldi states it has also developed longstanding partnerships with numerous Irish producers. Suppliers from Co. Dublin include Martin Flynn of Flynn’s Nurseries, which supplies Aldi with piccolo tomatoes, Robert Roberts, which supplies Aldi’s multi-award winning McGrath’s Irish tea range and Traditional Cheese Company, which supplies artisan cheeses to Aldi.
