Britvic Ireland’s Pub Hub app launched at the end of June achieved 10,000 downloads in its first month. The app – the first of its kind - harnesses the power of digital marketing for Britvic’s on-trade customers, allowing them to engage with pub-goers anytime, anywhere.

The Pub Hub was the top download in the ‘Lifestyle’ section and the number four in the ‘Top 25 free apps’ in the App Store on 29th June. It has achieved click-through rates of 7.8 per cent on Android and 8.5 per cent on iPhone and has generated over 1,800 ‘Likes’ on Facebook.

This platform is available exclusively to Britvic Licensed Wholesale customers, giving these publicans a competitive edge in an increasingly on-the-move society, claims Britvic. The launch of the app marked a move by the company to embrace the opportunities that digital marketing can provide in the licensed trade.

Launched to help publicans increase footfall in their business and to show consumers great value offers, the app puts a wide range of in-pub offers including gigs, party nights, meal deals and promotions from over 700 pubs into the customer’s hand. Users can redeem deals at the touch of a button and share offers with friends via a range of integrated social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter.

“This really is the first of its kind,” explained Debbie Vard, Head of Marketing at Britvic Licensed Wholesale, “It proves that Britvic Ireland is at the forefront when it comes to showing publicans how to maximise social media and reinvigorate the pub culture – which has noticeably tailed off in recent years – by driving footfall.

“With 80 per cent of consumers now using smart phones, this app makes for a very effective and exciting marketing channel.”
