Zambrero has announced the opening of a new outlet on Newcastle Road in Co. Galway, creating 15 new jobs.

An Australian fast food restaurant franchise that serves Mexican food, Zambrero has created over 50 Irish jobs in the last six months alone with the opening of four new franchise restaurants. It currently has two more Irish outlets in the works.

Zambrero was first brought to Ireland in 2016 by former Leinster rugby player Darragh Fanning. Speaking at the opening of the new Galway restaurant, Fanning said: “We were some of the first to bring this kind of tasty Mexican food to the Irish marketplace, and we have gone from strength to strength, creating over 150 jobs, and opening nine Irish Zambrero  outlets.

“This is a testament to the discerning tastes of the Irish consumer and the booming food scene in Ireland, but also the fantastic team we have built across the country. They have been central in turning what was a pessimistic outlook at the start of the year into a positive finish to 2020 for the franchise.”

The franchise QSR group cemented by its ethical background, enables each plate of food purchased by a customer in store, to be the catalyst for the brand to donate a plate of food to those facing poverty and hunger worldwide, through global distribution partners Rise Against Hunger.

“This year, the Zambrero family worldwide has achieved the significant milestone of donating 44 million meals donated through the Plate4Plate program,” added Fanning. “I am proud to be a part of such a uniquely philanthropic enterprise, the only of its kind in the Irish hospitality sector.”
